Hip-hop turned 50 and Brooklyn wanted to join the celebration.
Midnight Souk co-curated Night in the Library: The Philosophy of Hip-Hop, a seven-hour all-night event that turned the historic Brooklyn Public Library into a living argument for why hip-hop belongs in the same conversation as any art form that has shaped human culture. We built the editorial framing, speaker flow, and the session architecture that allowed the night to move between scholarship and performance, history, and party without losing its footing.
Over 4,000 New Yorkers showed up. So did KRS-One, Dr. Gloria Carter, Rapsody, and Dead Prez. That night, the Brooklyn Public Library became part of hip hop history.
